Import/Export - Editing Options

This panel allows you to select the options for importing and exporting data in CSV-format files. In addition, depending on the Windows configuration, some options also apply to XLS-format files.

Use Windows settings

Uses the symbols defined in the regional settings (in the Control Panel) to identify the column breaks, decimal and thousands separators, as well as the format for negative numbers.

Customized settings

Column breaks

Specifies the character used to separate the elements of a list during export. In the case of an import, Personal Taxprep will automatically detect the character used in the imported file.

Decimal separator

Specifies the symbol that indicates the decimal values.

Negative numbers

Specifies the format used to represent negative numbers.

Thousands separator

Specifies the type of number grouping (space, no space or comma) used to separate the thousands.
